M2 Open Hopper Progressive Cavity Pump

Progressive cavity pumps are positive displacement pumps which depend on the interference fit between the rotor in eccentric motion and the fixed rotor. This forms seal cavities that are disconnected from each other. Through the rotation of the rotor inside the stator, the seal cavities are moved axially from the inlet end of the pump to the outlet. This is how fluid mediums are conveyed using the seal cavities of the pump.

    Structural features

    Rotor
    We can design and process the rotor with various dimensions according to your requirements. The metal materials can be treated to increase hardness to HRC 65-67.
    Stator
    Material: NBR, NBRH, HNBR, EPDM and FKM are optional.
    Various materials feature different levels of abrasion and temperature resistance.
    Universal joint
    Many universal joint types are available for selection such as pin, hygienic, flexible, ball tooth and cross pin to deal with multiple torque transfers and axial loads.
    Seal
    According to the working condition, packing seal and mechanical seals are optional. In order to prolong the shaft seal life, a cooling and flushing system can be added.
    Driving system
    SEW, NORD, ABB and more high quality driving systems are optional.

    1. The suction cavity is designed as a rectangular large hopper, and the connecting rod is equipped with a large spiral blade propeller device, which can effectively prevent the accumulation of the medium at the entrance of the pump, greatly improve the ratio of the medium into the rotor and the stator cavity, and improve the conveying efficiency of the pump. It is suitable for conveying materials with high viscosity, high solid content and poor fluidity, such as the cement cake with solid content of 18%-30%. Kitchen waste solid residue, biogas residue, potato residue, bean residue, fruit residue, fruit pulp, tomato sauce, fish paste, sauce, pulp, etc. The size of the hopper can be designed and manufactured according to the customer's on-site installation requirements.
    2. In order to reduce the resistance of the pipeline, the pipe material should be made of stainless steel as far as possible, such as carbon steel pipes, to ensure that the inner surface is smooth and no rust: the turning radius of the pipeline should be greater than or equal to 4-5 times the diameter of the pipeline itself.
    Suggestions: Hopper pump pipe diameter, according to the actual situation, usually between DN100-350 is appropriate; Try to avoid 90-degree elbows.
    3. The extrusion cavity can be split, the extrusion cavity and the suction cavity body are axially separable design, and are connected with bolts, so that when replacing the rotor, as long as the extrusion cavity is disassembled, the rotor can be removed for replacement, without the need to remove the entire suction cavity body, and the maintenance is more convenient and quick.
    4. The upper part of the extrusion silo of the suction chamber of the pump is close to the stator end and is provided with a water injection port (small ball valve). Before the pump runs, a small amount of water or other liquid can be added as needed to prevent the dry operation of the pump; The bottom of the suction chamber is provided with a flange structure of the discharge port, so that the remaining material in the pump can be washed out before maintenance.

    An M2 open hopper progressive cavity pump, which has a much larger hopper than other pumps, has the ability to better pump large grained mediums, and is thus suitable for the conveyance of thick mediums with a maximum of 30% solid content.
